Dentalman

Dentalman marks the very beginning of my career in 2015 – the first professional project I designed, right as I was finishing my degree.

My Role
What started as a logo design grew into full responsibility for the brand identity and website design – designing for two very different audiences (dental assistants and dentists) within one plattform.

Learning & Impact
What was originally planned as a small subpage within the existing platform
minilu, quickly evolved into a standalone brand and website that would merge a lifestyle-driven blog with a B2B shop. One side of the site would offer equipment and accessories; the other would curate content such as wine recommendations, travel guides to cities hosting medical/healthcare trade fairs, complete with restaurant suggestions, and editorial pieces covering topics relevant and inspiring to dentists and dental surgeons. My first real lesson was that a small, well-executed idea can grow into something much bigger than what was originally asked for.

Here are some illustrations I created during the design process that ultimately didn't make it onto the final site. The original idea was to develop a character that personified the Dentalman, a visual guide who could appear in features like the live chat or on error pages to add a more human, playful touch to the experience.
